Maltitol is obtained from the hydrogenation of maltose. It is an earlier sugar alcohol used in low-calorie sweeteners. It can be used in oral preparations, candies, foods, and is non-carious, non-toxic, non-allergenic, and non-irritating.

Main properties of maltitol:
1.With gentle sweet, its sweetness is 0.8-0.9 that of saccharose;
2.Has high degree of moisture retention, certain degree of consistency and is hard to ferment;
3.Has high emulsion stability, can partly replace fat;
4.Low calorie.

 

Main applications of Maltitol:
1.Used in sweets such as chewing gum, hard candy, especially suitable for use in chocolate;
